Kahana Beach Park with Our Friends Shelley, Michelle, Nancy, and Kellie from Mu Ryang Sa Temple
Saturday...Daddy got me up out of bed this morning and helped (a very little bit) Mommy give me a bath. After Mommy finished bathing, feeding, and dressing me, we all went for a ride in the car to the windward side of the island. We stopped at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Kaneohe to pick up a couple buckets of chicken and then continued on to Kahana Beach Park.
A lot of my friends had camped out overnight and were still there today. They were really happy to see me, and I was really happy to see them, too. I watched Mommy and Auntie Kiki Oh and Auntie Min-Jung Kim cook mandu for a little while, and then I played in one of the big tents with Daddy and my big sisters Shelley Kim, Kellie Oh, Michelle, Nancy, and Jung-Eun Ha, and my big brothers Kevin and Shawn. Daddy took me out on the beach, too, so I could see the waves coming in and the kids playing in the sand. He let me crawl around on the grass underneath the big shade trees, too. I found a couple pieces of round green fruit about the size of tennis balls – they were fun to play with.
After Mommy gave me a bottle, she took me for a walk in my stroller and I fell asleep. While I was napping peacefully, the wind started blowing and the rain started falling. I was getting cold, too, so Daddy woke me up and took me back into the tent to play with the kids again for awhile. Then everybody, including Mommy and Daddy and me, packed up and headed for home.
I spent the rest of the evening playing with Mommy and Daddy on the living room floor. Daddy played some of my favorite Disney and Julie Andrews and Shirley Temple songs for me on the computer, built towers of blocks for me to knock down, and rolled my purple Pokemon ball back and forth with me. Mommy read books with me. Now I’m getting sleepy, though, so they’re putting me to bed. Goodnight, everybody…Love, Tia
