Maui -- Tia's First Train RideSunday...Mommy and Daddy and I drove to the Lahaina Sugar Cane Train Station as soon as we woke up this morning. I met a little girl named Allie while we were waiting for our train to come into the station. Allie was asleep in her Mommy’s arms until the train conductor blew his whistle. Mommy and Daddy had to comfort me because it was so loud it scared me. After we watched the train turn around, we climbed aboard and sat down inside. I really liked it – especially when it started moving. I pointed out all of the flowers and trees and people and cars to Mommy and Daddy as we went by them (or was it as they went by us?). When we reached the end of the line at Ka’anapali, we stretched our legs for about five minutes and then rode the train back to Lahaina. I got bored on the return trip, but all in all, it was a great first train ride.
After we got back to Lahaina Station, we went exploring in Kihei. We ate lunch at L & L’s and then drove back to our motel in Kahana. We spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the resort across the street. We watched the sunset on the beach from the Seabreeze Café. Right before the sun went down, I saw a Hawaiian man run all along the beach, lighting lanterns from a torch that he carried.
As it started getting dark, Mommy and Daddy and I walked back home. I spent the rest of the evening exploring and playing in our motel room. Now I’m getting tired, though, so I think I’ll curl up here on the floor next to Mommy and go to sleep. Goodnight, everybody…
