Visit to Dr. McNaughton’s Office

Saturday...Mommy installed some green, plastic chicken wire on the lanai this morning.  I’ll never be able to throw my toys down into Joshua’s yard again – until I get tall enough to reach “over” the lanai railing.

In the afternoon, Mommy and Daddy and I drove downtown to the Interstate Building (1314 S. King St.) to see Dr. Chad McNaughton.  He’s a chiropractor who’s a son of one of Daddy’s friends at work, Uncle Fred McNaughton.  I had fun in the waiting room playing with the little water bubble machine (with fishies in it) and collecting and rearranging pamphlets from the magazine rack.  Then we went into an examination room and watched a video about chiropractors.  I got bored before it finished, though, and kept telling Daddy, “Let’s go.”  When it finally ended, Dr. McNaughton came back in and started examining Mommy.  I started crying very loudly, so Daddy had to carry me out to the hallway.  We repeatedly walked around out there until I calmed down and started pointing back inside the office, saying “This…” (for “This way…”).  Then Daddy would take me back inside to see Mommy and Dr. McNaughton, and we’d start the cycle all over again.  Finally Mommy’s examination ended, and I turned into a happy camper again.

I fell asleep soon after we got in the car and started driving home.  We stopped at the Pearl Harbor Exchange first, though.  Mommy stayed with me inside the car while Daddy bought some oil and new windshield wipers for our cars.  I was still asleep when we got home, so Daddy installed  the new wipers on the windshields and poured the oil into the tanks of both cars while I continued to sleep.  Then Mommy and Daddy finally woke me up.

We went for a walk.  We walked in front of our apartment to see what our lanai looked like with the new chicken wire.  It didn’t look any different to me.  Then we walked around the back of Building-5 to the Rec Center.  I splashed the water in the swimming pool with my hands.  Next we walked over to the park, where Daddy let me sit on a tree branch.  He held me so I wouldn’t fall down.  Then we finally came home.

I played in the living room with Mommy and Daddy and my toys for the rest of the evening.  I especially enjoyed dancing to the piano with Mommy and Daddy.  After I fell asleep, Daddy put me to bed in my crib.  Goodnight, everybody…
