My Fifth Birthday

It finally came – my birthday!  Mommy and Daddy sang “Happy Birthday” to me this morning after I woke up.  I was so happy!  Mommy and I dropped Daddy off at work, and then Mommy dropped me off at school with Ms. Kimberly.  I brought my Minnie Mouse doll with me for show-and-tell because Minnie begins with an “M,” and we’re studying the letter “M” this week.  (“Mouse” begins with an “M,” too.)

Daddy had a cook-out at work, today.  Mommy had lunch with Auntie Yu-Sook McCarthy.  Auntie gave Mommy a Yongsan Toyland gift certificate to give to me for a birthday present.  Thank you, Auntie Yu-Sook – Toyland is my favorite place to shop.

Mommy and Daddy came to my classroom in the afternoon.  They brought all kinds of stuff for my birthday party – butterfly plates, cups, and napkins; Disney Princess tablecloths; pizza; juice; goodie bags; and my Disney Princess birthday cake.  After Mommy and Daddy and Mr. Daniel set everything up, everybody in the whole class sang “Happy Birthday” to me.  Then we all ate our food and played games.  Before we left, Ms. Kimberly and Dominic Gomez’s Mommy gave me some presents.  Thank you so much, Ms. Kimberly and Mrs. Gomez.

After my party, Mommy and Daddy and I met Auntie Pyong-Ae and Joshua Paquin in the lobby of my school.  They were waiting for me with their friend, Mrs. Powers.  Auntie Pyong-Ae gave me a nice present.  Thank you, Auntie.

We all drove to the Dragon Hill Lodge and got some ice cream cones at Sundae’s.  Auntie Ki-Won and Alison and Sally Kamae joined us there and gave me a present, too.  Thank you, everybody!  I just love birthdays!

Sally-Onni and Alison-Onni and Daddy and I went outside then and played on the playground.  We had lots of fun playing on the equipment and running away from Daddy when he chased us.  I met my old friends, Hye-Eun and Jade, there and made a new friend, Stephanie, too.

When we got hungry, Mommy and Daddy and I and the Kamaes drove over to the Katusa Snack Bar near Gate 17 and ate dinner.  I spent more time playing with Sally-Onni and Alison-Onni than I did eating.  Daddy and I tried playing the “quiet game” with Sally-Onni and Alison-Onni, but they were too good – they never lost.

Finally it was time to leave.  As Daddy strapped me into my seat belt, I told him and Mommy that I didn’t want to go anyplace else.  I told them I was tired and just wanted to go home now.  They said OK.

But once we got inside our apartment, I caught a second wind.  I had to play with all of my new presents.  I even helped Daddy unwrap the Rock-and-Roller Coaster Hotel.

Daddy couldn’t take any more fun after that and went to bed.  Now Mommy’s getting me ready for bed, too.  This was the happiest birthday of my life.  Thank you so much, everybody.  Sweet dreams … Love, Tia
